Downtown Jefferson City, Inc. – Christmas Light Inspection and Maintenance Services


Downtown Jefferson City, Inc. (DJCI) invites qualified vendors to submit proposals for the inspection, improvement, and year-round maintenance of the Christmas light strands adorning the buildings within the central Downtown corridor of Jefferson City, Missouri. We are seeking a capable, licensed, bonded, insured, and experienced vendor to ensure the consistent and reliable operation of these lights for the enhancement of our downtown area.
While these lights are referred to as “Christmas lights,” we may be interested in a reliable year-round lighting plan.

Scope of Work:

The selected vendor will be responsible for the following:

  1. Comprehensive Inspection: Thoroughly inspect all Christmas light strands and related infrastructure on the buildings of the central Downtown corridor. Identify any existing issues, deficiencies, or potential hazards affecting their operation.
  2. Recommendations for Improvement: Provide detailed recommendations for improvements and necessary repairs to ensure the lights are reliably operational as required, especially during the holiday season. We would also appreciate your recommendations for LED replacements or Smart LED replacements.
  3. Implementation of Recommendations: Execute the recommended improvements and repairs efficiently and effectively, ensuring that all Christmas light strands meet the desired operational standards.
  4. Year-Round Maintenance: Undertake regular maintenance and monitoring of the Christmas light strands throughout the year to prevent any potential issues and ensure they remain in optimal condition.
  5. Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond promptly to any unexpected issues or outages, especially during the holiday season, to minimize downtime.

Proposal Submission Requirements:

Interested vendors are requested to submit proposals that include the following:

  1. Company Information: Provide details about your company, including its history, experience in similar projects, and references from previous clients.
  2. Project Approach: Outline your proposed approach to inspecting, improving, and maintaining the Christmas light strands, including a detailed timeline.
  3. Cost Estimate: Present a comprehensive cost estimate, including breakdowns for inspection, improvements, and year-round maintenance services.
  4. Qualifications: Highlight your team’s qualifications, including relevant certifications and experience in lighting installations and maintenance.
  5. References: Provide references from at least three past clients for similar projects.


  • Proposal Submission Deadline: February 27, 2024
  • Vendor Selection: No later than April 2, 2024
  • Project Commencement: Subject to vendor
